Pastor Noffsinger,
Thank you for your Christian blogs. I was a member of Northwest Baptist Church from 1991 to 1992 while I was a student at the Command and General Staff College. As I begin my reading through the Scriptures this year, I hope you don't mind my sending you my questions about the Bible. If not, here is my first one. In Genesis 4:5, God is not happy with Cain's offering. But the reason why God is not happy with Cain's offering isn't clear, at least not in the preceding chapters. I have been told that God desired a blood sacrifice, such as Abel's, and I can accept this based on the Scriptures to come. Do we know with certainty why God was unhappy with "the fruit of the ground."

Thank you for your question Bro Mark
The reason He would not accept the "fruit of the ground" is because it represents good works as a means of salvation and God said "without the sheding of blood shall no flesh be justified"
