New Found Friends

I have been very encouraged lately by all the new found friends and resources on the blog and Facebook pages. What a great asset for those who are out of touch with the main stream of fellowship between our IFB churches. Since moving out to Kansas there aren't as many of the meeting I enjoy going to, available to me so the blog and Facebook has had to substitute for the void.
I think fellowship between our fundamental brethren is very important. I know some of you would disagree with me here but I don't care. I have learned so much about the ministry (good and bad) from going to revivals and conferences or fellowship meetings. And if I could go to more now I would. I believe you are now or you will become who you hang around. So I want to hang around those who are where I want to be in my church and ministry. If I want to run 200 I find those that are running 200 or more and fellowship with them and try to learn from them what I can.
Some of you are happy with your church still running the same as it did 10 years ago and blame the lack of growth on everything under the sun, accept your laziness in going after souls. And if you are going after souls, maybe you are doing something wrong. Someone said "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing you have been doing and expecting a different result."
There are a bunch of nut cases here on the internet I know, but there are also a lot of really good guys out there that would love to see you and your ministry do great things for God. Just like the fellowship meetings. Some are a waste of time and some are a lot of help. If they waste my time I don't go back, but if I get help I go back next month.

What a wonderful devotion for today! How true is it, that in our "circles", some get content with the same people over 20-30 years and claim as they say "super spiritual." We need to get off of our lazy butts, get out there, win souls, invite folks to church, get on our knees, pray for lost souls, pray for the harvest, and do the work of the Lord!!! I love what you're doing, I love your heart for the lost, and I love the heart you have for your people. God bless you in all that you do!!
In Christ and for His glory,
Curtis

I love that you used the deffinition of insanity. I have heard that used before but, never in refrence to a church. I think a lot of people neet to read and reflect on your post for today, including me. I also love what you said about becoming the people you hang out with. It's so true. Thanx for being a continued insperation to me and many others.

Excellent post, Bro. Dave! It's truly good to get "reacquainted" with some brothers that I haven't talked to in quite a while!

Just as an FYI, I ended up having to move my blog back over to Blogger. WordPress and my computer just didn't get along for some reason. Kept getting funky characters showing up in my posts and it took me longer to go back and edit them than it did to write them to begin with!

Bro. Dave,
Enjoyed your blog on thus particular subject. I've often woundered why it is in the IFB "world" that people cannot fellowship with other IFB churches? Some you do not want to fellowship with of course, but I believe there are to many "clicks". What do you think?

Very well said. I have always enjoyed "good" fellowships. Even Pastors need preaching! I have never understood the "fear" of the internet many churches have. I know it can be a dangerous place, but it can also be a tool for us to get the Gospel out. I use facebook to minister to the people I went to school with. In many cases it is the only way I could ever witness to them keep up the good work!
