Seeing God

We saw God do great things in Church yesterday 7 first time visitors. He gave us an unusual service in the AM then a new family in the PM and some back for a second visit. We got a glimpse of God's presence.
Do you plan to see God someday? Jesus said in the famous Sermon on the Mount, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” This surely will be one of the most awesome experiences that any of us have ever had. John said, “No man hath seen God at any time, but the Son of God hath declared Him.” In the Old Testament several people did see the glory of God, and it truly was an awesome experience. What does it mean to be “pure in heart”? Possibly it means to be made pure by being washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. That, of course, refers to being saved. Also, it might mean to be pure in motive and intent which would lead to pure lives and clean bodies. The dictionary says that pure means to be single minded or unmixed with any other. That would mean allowing my interest and goals to be totally centered around my relationship to God as Jesus said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Seeing God is an experience that we really can be looking forward to.

Hebrews 12:14 is also a good cross reference for the passage in Matthew 5. I grateful for the blood of Jesus that makes my heart pure (1 John 1:7). David had a desire for this, no doubt, when he said, "Creat in me a clean heart".

Thanks for the post.
